dwarf tomatoes and basil in the Floating Garden Two basils froing to maturity in the Floating Garden
Dwarf tomatoes (determinate variety) and sweet basil grown from seed and located in a garden receiving about 6 hours of sun per day. This was an experiment and we don't recommend that you grow tomatoes in our Floating Garden Kitchen Garden Kit. Use our Floating Garden Vegetable Hydroponic Garden Kit Combo which includes our portable vine support stand to support tomatoes, cucumbers, peas, and beans.
Red Rubin Basil (Ocimum basilicum) and Sweet Basil grown to maturity in the Floating Garden. There are two plants of each variety. They were grown on a partially shaded patio receiving mostly indirect sunlight. The upper stems of the plants were harvested regularly for the kitchen; regular cutting of the upper stems helps obtain bushy (not leggy) plants. The plants were approximately 17" high when this photo was taken.
